deCODE biostructures
website

deCODE biostructures is a leading provider of contract research services in X-ray crystallographic structure determination of protein-ligand complexes. deCODE's capabilities span the entire gene-to-structure landscape including gene synthesis, construct engineering, large scale protein production and purification, high-throughput crystallization screening, small molecule pre-formulation screening, X-ray diffraction data collection, model building, and refinement. When partnered with deCODE's chemistry services, deCODE can provide a complete solution for discovering and developing optimized clinical candidates in a time efficient manner. In its goal to eliminate bottlenecks in the gene-to-structure path, deCODE has built and commercialized sophisticated liquid handling devices (Matrix Maker™, Drop Maker™, Protein Maker™), microscopes (Crystal Monitor™), plate hotels (CrysTEL™), and integrated data base control software (Crystal Miner™) used to conduct its services. Validated through our own research, these Emerald BioSystems™ devices are available for purchase together with our well-known Crystal Growth Matrices (i.e. Wizard™), custom screens (Sorcerer™), and crystallization plates (i.e. Clover Plates™).

Fluidigm
website

Fluidigm develops and manufactures innovative systems based on its integrated fluidic circuits for life-science research. Its first offering, the Topaz(tm) system, uses IFCs for the initial screening of conditions that crystallize target proteins and, subsequently, for scaling up those conditions to produce diffraction-quality crystals. IFCs are miniature devices-also called chips-that contain a dense network of channels and wells and as many as hundreds of thousands of valves to regulate the fluids involved in bio-chemical reactions. In addition to chips and chemistries, Fluidigm provides the hardware and software to automate the experiment setup and the detection and analysis of reaction products.

GE Healthcare
website

GE Healthcare Bio-Sciences (formerly Amersham Biosciences Corp), is a $2.7 billion business of GE Healthcare that provides medical diagnostics, drug discovery and protein separation systems. Featured at this meeting will be the new automated ÄKTAxpressÔ system for parallel, multidimensional high throughput purification of tagged proteins. Also displayed will be the new Ni Sepharose High Performance (HisTrapÔ HP) columns which are pre-packed, ready-to-use columns for the purification of His-tagged recombinant proteins by immobilized metal affinity chromatography (IMAC).

Oxford Diffraction
website

Oxford Diffraction designs and manufactures protein and chemical single crystal X-ray diffraction equipment. Our superior products include the revolutionary protein diffractometer ‘Xcalibur PX Ultra’ and the patented ‘Helijet’ open flow helium jet. ‘Xcalibur PX Ultra’ features a four circle kappa goniometer, the revolutionary ‘Enhance Ultra’ X-ray source; which provides comparable X-ray intensity to a 5 kW rotating anode fitted with multi-graded confocal optics from a 2.2 kW sealed tube and the patented 165 mm large area ‘Onyx’ CCD detector. Xcalibur PX Ultra is extremely compact, has a low cost of ownership and is virtually maintenance free.

Rigaku/MSC
website

Rigaku/MSC, is the world's leading resource for single-crystal X-ray diffraction hardware, software and contract services. Because of the large variation in requirements from lab to lab, Rigaku/MSC has adopted the philosophy of offering a completely configurable package for protein crystallography. A macromolecular home-lab X-ray system consists of five major components: X-ray generator, optics, area detector, software and crystal cryo-cooling system. Rigaku/MSC offers options in all five areas so researchers can customize their lab to fit their experimental needs. Customers who purchase an X-ray system from Rigaku/MSC will receive the maximum flexibility in selecting components and also experience the benefits of full system responsibility from one company.
