Charles David Stout is Associate Member in the Department of Molecular Biology
at The Scripps Research Institute, La Jolla, CA. He received his Ph. D.
in biochemistry and crystallography from the University ofWisconsin in 1976,
and is author of over 120 scientific publications. His research entails
the use x-ray crystallography in combination with biochemical and biophysical
methods to determine the structure, biological function, and mechanism of
proteins and enzymes. Current projects are focused on mammalian
cytochrome P450s, the integral membrane proton pump, transhydrogenase, and
iron-sulfur cluster containing electron transfer proteins.
