Dr. Lance Stewart is the Vice President of the BioStructures Group at deCODE
genetics, Inc. (formerly Emerald BioStructures, Inc., Bainbridge Island, WA),
where he manages deCODE’s protein crystallography services and products
businesses. Dr. Stewart received his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Cornell
University (1992), his B.Sc. in Biology and from McMaster University (1987),
and an MBA form the University of Washington (2003). Prior to co-founding
Emerald BioStructures, Inc. in 1997, Dr. Stewart was a Postoctoral Fellow and
Research Assistant Professor in the Departments of Microbiology and Biological
Structure at the University of Washington (1992 – 1997). Dr. Stewart has
received five Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) program grants.
